Day 2 of DreamHack Summer 2017 is shaping up to feature some unexpected matches and potentially even more upsets.

Tomorrow's matches are as follows:

  • Singularity vs. mousesports
  • Gambit vs. Cloud9
  • SK Gaming vs. winner of Singularity/mousesports
  • Fnatic vs. winner of Gambit/Cloud9

The winners of the final two matches of the day will advance to the playoff bracket where they will join the likes of Counter Logic Gaming and Immortals.

More than anything, I'm looking forward to seeing how Mikhail "Dosia" Stolyarov of Gambit matches up against Cloud9's Mike "shroud" Grzesiek. To say the least, shroud didn't have the best performance on Day 1.

MVP

The casters will probably choose the MVP of tomorrow's matches to be somebody from SK Gaming, but for me personally, it'll be Dennis "dennis" Edman from Fnatic. He had so many clutch plays against both Cloud9 and CLG, including this awesome 3K where he shows off his amazing spray control.

Match to Watch:

Truth be told, the best match to watch will be Gambit and Cloud9. Intense individual skill against a refined and consistent playstyle from the DH Austin champions should prove to be a great match.

Whoever wins there will advance to face Fnatic, who are coming off a devastating five overtime loss to CLG.

Bold Prediction:

I believe Gambit will barely edge ahead of Cloud9. mousesports will take a commanding lead over Singularity after a hard-fought battle in the first map, closing the match out 2-0.

As for who advances to the bracket, I'm going to put my money on Fnatic, in front of their home crowd, and SK Gaming. The two juggernauts of this tournament faulted on the first day, but don't expect it to happen again. Expect both of the group deciding matches to be clean sweeps for both SK and Fnatic.
