One of North America's premiere CS:GO events, and a part of the Intel Grand Slam, IEM Oakland has been shaping up to be a great event since it was announced.

Being a part of the Intel Grand Slam alone increases the stakes on the event quite a lot, but competitors are already competing for $300k. Additionally, their choice to have three qualifier slots, with one for Southeast Asia, is a great one.

To round out their nine invites, IEM Oakland has officially invited Ninjas in Pyjamas. NiP hasn't been in tip-top form recently, but finishing in the 3rd-4th slot at DreamHack Masters Malmo might just mean they're turning it around.

And what better time to turn your play around then right before leaving to defend your title in Oakland?

NiP didn't decide to talk any trash to the competition when they also announced their attendance, but given the competition, it's hard to blame them.

The other eight invited teams are Astralis, G2 Esports, Cloud9, Gambit Esports, FaZe Clan, SK Gaming, Team Liquid, and Immortals. Whichever three teams qualify to compete at the event, they're sure to spice up competition even more.

Nov. 16-19 should provide an excellent tournament for any fan of CS:GO, so don't miss it.
