Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has returned again to deliver another Developer Update for the game, with his focus this time around focusing on fixing and improving the game's blatant toxicity problem within its community.
Whilst the current reporting system has been somewhat effective so far with over 480,000 toxic players receiving punishments, Jeff Kaplan and the rest of the development are unsatisfied with the current state of the system. To fix this, he wants to change the system to provide more instantaneous feedback to its players without waiting to send them an email.
According to Jeff Kaplan, the best way to cut down toxicity is to start with the players themselves. If every player made a promise to themselves to take a step back and enjoy the game for what it is, then Jeff Kaplan and the rest of the development team can focus on adding new content rather than spending time and resources on fixing the toxicity problem.
Just remember that if you're ever feeling angry or frustrated in an Overwatch game, whether it's a competitive match or an arcade brawl, we're all just here to have fun.
