Astralis will have an interesting lineup change to begin their run at IEM Oakland. The team has announced that they will be starting coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen for their first game against Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Due to sickness, @dev1ce hasn't been able to leave for IEM Oakland until this morning. This means that our coach @zonic_cs will play in the first game vs. @NiPGaming.— Astralis (@astralisgg) November 14, 2017
If there are no delays, devve will be ready to play in time for the second game vs. @Cloud9.
The emergency roster swap came after Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz was delayed for his trip to Oakland due to sickness. The team hopes to have him back in time to play for their second game against Cloud9.
Ninjas in Pyjamas shouldn't see the last minute swap as a free victory as zonic is widely considered one of the best Counter-Strike players in the Danish scene. There's no doubt that he has kept to form with the game as well to supplement his coaching abilities.
Astralis as a whole will be looking to make the most of a victory at IEM Oakland for a number of reasons, but most importantly to keep themselves in the conversation with the best teams in the game.
