6 Best Lore Stories From League of Legends

With over 100 champions and many different factions, Riot has created a whole universe for fans to explore and learn about. If some of you aren't familiar with character lore, or stories about the number of factions in Runeterra, here is six of the best stories created by Riot.

6. Ornn

Ornn's lore is not as action packed as the rest, but it is definitely something different form everyone else. Ornn was an incredibly talented forger; he would often be contacted by other characters in the universe to help them forge equipment or even a bridge.

Volibear, surprisingly brother of Ornn, requested his help forging equipment for his army. Ornn declined as he never got along with his brother and saw through his ways. Volibear angrily attacked Ornn as they fought for days and days until they were both exhausted. Volibear left the scene only taking a shoulder pad from Ornn's house.

5. Taliyah

Taliyah's lore gave us a whole new perspective of Azir and his rise to power after his accession. Taliyah saw Azir as some kind of dictator, using his power and control for evil content, while natives of Shurima see him as a hero. Taliyah decides to leave and explore the outside world and meets a wind samurai who later becomes her mentor.

The samurai asks Taliyah to reconsider her decision of leaving Shurima and to keep an open mind, though we are not sure what decision she made, those words will forever change Taliyah. She offers him a hair tie for him to remember her by, he takes it and ties his hair into a fluffy ponytail.

4. Orianna

The story of Orianna is an incredibly sad story about a mourning father and his dying daughter.

Orianna was once human.

Her father, Corin Reveck, elaborately designed mechanisms that would help his daughter survive. He kept building and building to save her until she became fully robotic. Her life never remained the same.

3. Vayne

Vayne's lore is a story about vengeance. She pledged her life to find the demon who murdered her parents. The beautiful horned women stood upon the bloody corpses of her parents, and gave Vayne a lustful smile before disappearing in the shadows.

Vayne would rush to her parents, brushing the bloody hair away from her mothers face only to witness the damage that has been done. Vayne knew the shadowy figure would return, so she swore on her life that she will be the one to remove her from the face of the earth.

2. Lucian

Lucian and his Wife Senna were an iconic duo, battling the evils that the Shadow Isles possessed. In their line of work they fought foes some warriors wouldn't bare to face head on. They encountered a chained warden and proceeded to battle. The Warden encased Senna's soul in his lantern with no way of escape. Lucian was forced to battle evils on his own, in his wife's honor.

1. Zed

The story about balance, betrayal, and honor. Zed was once an orphan, picked up by one of the masters of Ionia. He was a talented fighter, much better than his peer, Shen. Zed always wanted to be the best in his class, and seemed for more power, this is how he was claimed by the art of the shadows.

He returned to the village and was greeted with anger, Zed's master banished him from Ionia. He decapitated his master, and let out a disheartening scream. Zed tossed the masters head at the feet of Shen, giving him a purpose to defeat Zed to avenge his fathers death.
