In Friday's dev corner post, Riot Games' Andrei "Meddler" van Roon finally announced all the incoming changes regarding supports and Sightstone.

Sightstone will be a quest reward instead of a completed item. Instead of being locked into a specific build, supports will now have more freedom in their item choices, but Meddler assures us that the support power levels are not expected to change.

Support item actives, like Frost Queen's and Talisman's, plan to be moved to new items, both accessible to supports and non-supports.

Riot intends to improve the way vision is distributed throughout the game and plans to add the Vision Score to the tab screen. The plan is to better reflect the importance of vision and who is (or who isn't) contributing their fair share, whether it's placing wards or destroying them. These changes are planned to be implemented in Patch 8.2 or 8.3.

Finally, Riot will look at adaptive damage in order to determine when champions get AP or AD damage by default. Most champions are buying items like Doran's Blade or Doran's Ring, which clearly say what kind of damage they're dealing. For tankier champions or junglers, however, we might not see a damage item for a few minutes of the game. The plan is to look at the list of defaults and change them so junglers and tanks will have some stats to help them out in the early game.
