Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – How to get more Chroma Elixir

Chroma Elixir is a precious resource in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as it allows you to heal your entire party without having to go to a rest point, which would respawn all of the enemies in the area, similar to Estus Flasks in the Dark Souls games. You start the game with just one, which is replenished each time you rest, but there are ways to get more, letting you go even longer without having to rest.

How to get more Chroma Elixir

You’ll find Chroma Elixir bottles in the painted cages, like the ones in the image above. These cages can be found in various locations scattered around the world and they contain a variety of things like weapons and Pictos, but a select few contain Chroma Elixir, and it is the only way to increase your capacity in the game.

To unlock these cages, you need to survey the surrounding area and find three balls of glowing ink. They can be clinging to just about any surface, so you’ll have to look high and low. When you find them, use LT/L2 to aim at them and RT/R2 to fire. You need to break three of them to unlock the cage and get the item inside.
