Elden Ring Nightreign Ironeye guide – how to best use Ironeye’s abilities and stats

How to get the most use out of Elden Ring Nightreign's archer archetype
FromSoftware

Ironeye is Elden Ring Nightreign’s archer. With high dexterity and arcane, he’s able to wield some of the game’s best bows and do big damage from range. But the best Ironeye players will also know why they should sometimes get in close – I’ll explain why later in this guide.

Elden Ring Nightreign Ironeye attributes

A character’s attributes tell you two things: what their starting stats will be in terms of health, stamina, magic pool, and strength, and what weapons they’re most comfortable with. The highest possible stat is an S, followed by A, B, C, D, and E as the lowest.

Here’s what each stat means:

  • HP - How large your health pool is.
  • FP - How large your mana pool is.
  • Stamina - How large your stamina gauge is.
  • Strength - How much physical damage you can deal, scaling with colossal weapons.
  • Dexterity - Proficiency with daggers, bows, katanas, and other fast weapons.
  • Intelligence - Your magical potency, impacting the power of sorceries. Scales well with weapons such as the Moonveil katana and Fallingstar Beast Jaw.
  • Faith - How effective your healing and holy incantations are. Scales with weapons such as Golden Epitaph and Erdtree Greatbow.
  • Arcane - Holy damage and death blight negation. Increases blood loss buildup for bleeding weapons. Scales with weapons such as Serpent Bow and Rivers of Blood.

Here are Ironeye’s attributes:

  • HP - C
  • FP - C
  • Stamina - B
  • Strength - C
  • Dexterity - A
  • Intelligence - D
  • Faith - D
  • Arcane - B

Elden Ring Nightreign Ironeye abilities

Each Nightreign character also has two active abilities and one passive ability. These abilities can also be changed with certain relics, making them more potent. Here are Ironeye’s:

Passive: Eagle Eye

Enemies drop more items for you and your allies.

Character Skill: Marking

Cut a foe with your dagger, revealing a weak point. Destroying the weak point staggers enemies. Marking is one of the most versatile character skills in Nightreign. When you trigger it, Ironeye dashes in the direction you push the stick and cuts any enemies in his path, dealing damage and leaving behind a crosshair. This can be used to deal damage, set enemies up for more damage, to escape thanks to invincibility frames during activation, or to get behind an enemy who’s in your face. Ironeye can do a ridiculous amount of damage by getting in close and using a heavy attack with a bow, which fires three arrows like a medieval shotgun blast. He can follow that up with Marking to cut the enemy and get behind them for another volley. Once marked, aim for the crosshair to deal more damage and potentially stagger the enemy. You can also aim manually by two-handing the bow and holding LB.

Ultimate Art: Single Shot

Fires a massive arrow that passes through walls and other enemies. Perfect for big groups huddled together, but works just as well against large single targets. Maximise this ability’s potential by trying to time it as an enemy winds up an attack and you’ll often prevent them from doing damage.

Elden Ring Nightreign Ironeye’s best weapons

As you’d expect, Ironeye works best with a bow. Still, there’s nothing stopping you from equipping a melee weapon in his off-hand for when things get a bit too intimate. It’s worth noting that you can still do everything you can do with other weapons with the bow, which means you can get more stagger damage by doing jumping attacks, which feel cool as hell, and you can still backstab if you get behind an enemy and tap attack at the right time. And like I said above, do not sleep on the heavy attack. Three times the damage if you get in close and spray them up.
