Hades 2 End to Deepest Slumber: How to wake Hypnos

It won’t take long for you to spot Hypnos all comfy and asleep in a corner of the Crossroads when you start Hades 2, and you might be eager to find a way to rouse him from his slumber. It can be done, but it’s going to take quite a lot of work. We’ll break down everything you need to do to wake up Hypno, including how to get all the materials you’ll need.

How to unlock the first Hypnos scene – Hades 2

Hypnos has multiple scenes that will give you a look into how this happened to Hypnos and what can be done about it. To unlock the first, you must do the following two things:

• Give Hypnos Nectar twice
• Harvest at least one Poppy.

Nectar is easily obtained from both runs and the Wretched Broker, while Poppy seeds can be found by interacting with digsites in Tartarus. This will unlock the “End to Deepest Slumber” incantation, which requires:

• 1 Moly
• 2 Mandrake
• 3 Poppy

Moly is the flower that grows in Erebus in the underworld, while Mandrake seeds can be found in dig spots in the Rift of Thessaly. Once you have everything you need, complete the incantation, give the Dream Vapors to Hypnos, and watch the first scene unfold.

How to unlock the second Hypnos scene – Hades 2

This scene will give Melione some insight into what she needs to do, but won’t succeed in waking the god of sleep. For the next step, you need to seek out Medea, who resides in the City of Ephyrea. She will sometimes appear in this location through the door marked with hands.

Talk to her after the first scene, and eventually Melione will bring up Hypnos. Note that this may take a few tries, as meeting her for the first time or reaching other story milestones might trigger other dialogue to play in its place. Either way, she’ll eventually give you a new incantation, “End to Dearest Slumber,” which requires the following:

• 1 Moly
• 3 Mandrake
• 2 Poppy

The same ingredients as before, just in different amounts. These will create new vapors, which you can give to Hypnos for a second scene, though this still won’t be enough.

How to unlock the final Hypnos scene – Hades 2

After this failure, return to Medea once more and you’ll get the final incantation, but this one will take a bit of legwork. “End to Dumbest Slumber” requires the following:

• 1 Shaderoot
• 2 Poppy
• 1 Soot

Shaderoots are the flower you can harvest in Tartarus; however, Soot is trickier.

How to get Soot – Hades 2

To get soot, the first step is to defeat Chronos and complete the main story. This is because you need to free Hades from his captivity, which can only be done by beating the game. Once you’ve done that, return to the underworld and find Hades once more; he’ll be in his usual chamber. Talk to Hades for the first time, and after you have, he will give you Soot as a reward.

With that done, you can put together the final incantation, see the final scene, and at long last, wake Hypnos.
