Hades 2: How to find and fight Zagreus
By Ryan Woodrow

After finally defeating Chronos permanently in Hades 2 and finishing the game’s main story, a few changes are made to the state of the world, even as you continue to do runs both into the underworld and onto the surface. The main one is that there are a few more notable characters out there who you can encounter, like Hades, Persephone, the reformed Chronos, and most importantly, Melinone’s older brother, Zagreus.
Zagreus is more than just someone to chat to though, as he’s one of Hades 2’s secret boss fights, so we’ll explain where to find him.
How to find Zagreus in Hades 2
Once you’ve beaten the main game, whenever you do a run and reach Charon’s shop, there is a chance for a new item to be there, an infernal contract in a pool of blood. If you accept this contract, then you’ll be teleported to the colosseum in Elysium, a location not otherwise reachable in Hades 2. Zagreus is there too. He and Melione will exchange a bit of dialogue before the fight begins, with Zagreus fighting with Gigaros, Hades’ spear.
If you successfully defeat Zagreus, you will get two things. One, some Gemstones that can be traded into the Wretched Broker for Kudos, which you use to decorate the Crossroads. Two, and much more usefully, for the remainder of the run, all of Charon’s shops will have one additional item in stock.
On top of this, defeating Zagreus twice will get you his Calling Card Keepsake, letting you complete your collection.
