Hollow Knight: Silksong Architect's Melody – Cogwork Core puzzle solution

As you progress through Act 2, you’ll eventually be tasked with finding three parts of a melody that you’ll need to play to progress. The three pieces are scattered across the regions that border the Citadel, but perhaps the trickiest one to get hold of is the Architect’s Melody. As well as having a challenging platforming sequence leading up to it, you’ll have to solve a rather obtuse puzzle once you get to the top.

We’ll break down this puzzle, how it works, and what the solution is so you can get the Architect’s Melody.

Architect’s Melody puzzle solution – HK: Silksong

Your goal here is to hit the levers and rotate each segment of each pillar so that each pillar has all four sections line up with the musical notation on display. This means that all of the yellow lines that stretch out of the top and bottom of each segment must match up to another yellow line in the next segment.

It’s easiest to start at the bottom. Try each bottom section and see if it lines up with any of the segments for the one directly above it. If you find a match, then chances are you’ve got the right pattern and it’s just a matter of hitting the top two levers until the sections line up. It’s mostly a trial-and-error game, but once you understand the mechanics of the puzzle (something the game does not explain), it’s relatively simple.

The room is also quite dark, but that’s what the spotlights are for, as you can hit them to move them into position and light up whatever you need to look at.

Once you’ve successfully completed a pillar, it will lower into the ground. Once you’ve done all four, go into the middle and play your Needolin to unlock the Architect’s Melody.
