Hollow Knight: Silksong – How to unlock the double jump (Faydown Cloak)
By Ryan Woodrow

As you go through Silksong, you’ll find plenty of platforms and ledges that are just out of your reach, and the entire time, you’ll be longing for the day when you can get a double jump. Thankfully, you can do so during Act 2. It requires you to complete a tough set of platforming challenges though, so we’ll break it down for you.
How to get the double jump – HK: Silksong
The double jump is obtained via the Faydown Cloak, which awaits you at the top of Mount Fay. This area is west of The Citadel, through an area called The Slab. Before you can scale Mount Fay, you need to unlock the grappling hook (Clawline) in Silksong.
You’ll notice that standing out in the cold too long will damage you, and unfortunately, the only way to negate this effect is by getting the cloak. However, you will find lamps and fires along the way that reset the effect of the cold, meaning that if you’re quick, you won’t take any damage.
There is generally only one main path up Mount Fay, so just follow the platforms and remember that you’ll need to use all of the abilities you’ve acquired so far. Once you get to the top, interact with the statue, and a cutscene will play that grants you the Faydown Cloak.
