Hollow Knight: Silksong – How to unlock fast travel

Hollow Knight Silksong doesn’t make it easy for you to get around, so your options for fast travelling are limited. While you’ll generally have to navigate each area manually, you can unlock ways to travel between the game’s various areas quickly, something that will become essential as you uncover more of the game’s expansive map.

We’ll explain how to unlock fast travel and what to look for to open the path there in each area.

How to unlock fast travel – HK: Silksong

If you want to fast travel, you’ll need to meet and defeat the Bell Beast, which is one of the game’s first major bosses. As you head up through the Marrow, if you follow the signs, you’ll run into the Bell Beast tangled up in a bunch of webs, but you won’t be able to break them just yet.

Instead, you must explore Mosshold and unlock the Silkspear ability so that you can break webs in Silksong. Once you’ve done that, come back to the Bell Beast and break the webs entangling it. Unfortunately, it will then attack you, leaping out of the ground and throwing bells at you.

Once you defeat it, you’ll get a Silk Heart, and the path forward will open, but as you go to leave, the Bell Beast will appea,r and the option to fast travel back to the little village you found earlier will appear, which you can now use whenever you want from the bell stations.

To unlock fast travel to more areas, you will need to find this bell room in each section. They all have a similar look, so if you see the terrain start to shift to bells, you’ll know you’re close. Once you’re at a station you just need to smack the bell to ring it and summon the Bell Beast.
