Hollow Knight: Silksong – Where to find Hokers for Spine Cores
By Ryan Woodrow

Hollow Knight: Silksong has a more refined side-quest system than in the first game, with various “wishes” that you’re given around the world being trackable from the menu. One such wish comes from the Seamstress in the Far Fields who, when you talk to her in her balloon, will request you to get 25 Spine Cores, which you can get from an enemy called Hokers – though it’s unlikely you’ll have met a Hoker yet, so you might be confused as to what they are.
We’ll explain what Hokers are, where you can find them, and how to get all of those precious Spine Cores you need to fulfill the Seamstress’s wish and get the essential reward she offers. This is far from the only request you’ll find too, there are others, like the request to find Pilgrim Shawls in Silksong.
How to gather Spine Cores from Hokers – HK: Silksong
From the room with the Seamstress’s balloon, head east, and in the next room, you’ll find your first Hoker. They are the strange, round things floating in the air that shoot out spikes when you hit them.
The spikes that they shoot out are the Spine Cores you’re looking for. Go up to one once it’s stuck itself into the terrain and attack it. It will then turn into an item that you can pick up. Try to be quick, as they will disappear after a few seconds. A Hoker will shoot out a new wave of spikes every time it’s hit – and it can take three hits before dying – so as you continue around the Far Fields, you should get up to 25 in no time.
Spine Cores wish reward – HK: Silksong
Take the Spine Cores back to the Seamstress, and she will take your cloak, working on it with her loom for a bit and presenting it back to you as the Drifter’s Cloak, which is the essential upgrade that unlocks gliding in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
