Hollow Knight Silksong – Berry Picking quest Mossberry locations

One of the newest additions in Hollow Knight: SIlksong is the inclusion of proper side quests — actual quests given by NPCs and found throughout the world that task Hornet with collecting something, defeating something, or exploring somewhere. 

One of the earliest quests Hornet picks up in her journey is Berry Picking, a quest that is given by the Moss Druid and asks you to collect Mossberries, which are scattered throughout the world and often found in hard-to-find locations. Three Mossberries are required for the Druid’s quest, and while there are more Mossberries in the game, there are a few early-game Mossberries that are fairly easy to get and deliver to complete the quest. 

In this guide we’ll go over where you can find the Mossberries for the Berry Picking quest, and what rewards completing the quest offers.

Berry Picking Mossberry locations – HK: Silksong 

There are three relatively easy-to-find Mossberries for the purposes of this quest, with a few extras that are a little more difficult to get your hands on but are thankfully not required to complete this quest. 

The first Mossberry you’ll almost certainly come across before you even have the Berry Picking quest. It’s located in the bottom of Moss Grotto, the starting area in the game. 

Head as far left from the broken cage from which you emerge, then start climbing upwards in the left-most chamber. Keep climbing until you find the top right corner of that cavern, as seen above, where a Mossberry will be available for you to grab. 

The second Mossberry is available immediately below where you get the quest from the Moss Druid. If you exit the Moss Druid’s cave, you’ll see a place to drop down. After you’ve dropped down, there’s a hidden path to the right, accessible by hitting a breakable wall with your nail. 

Simply burst through the wall to the right, then defeat a flying creature holding a glowing Mossberry to collect it. 

The final Mossberry does require an additional ability beyond your basic moveset, Swift Step. You get Swift Step in the Deep Docks area, and once you do, you’ll want to fast travel back to Bone Bottom. 

Re-enter the Moss Grotto, and head to the right. The rightmost chamber in Moss Grotto has a Mossberry attached to the ceiling, and you’ll need to get a running jump with Swift Step to knock it down. 

Moss Druid location – HK: Silksong 

By the time you’ve collected all three Mossberries, you might have forgotten where the Moss Druid even is. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to get to, being located in the top-right area of Mosshome, in a cavern. See the image below for reference: 

Berry Picking quest rewards – HK: Silksong 

Turning in the three Mossberries to the Moss Druid will reward Hornet with a Druid’s Eye, an equippable tool that restores a small amount of Silk upon taking damage. It’s not a great deal – it won’t be enough to heal or use a skill – but every little bit helps, especially in boss fights.
