Hollow Knight: Silksong – How to fix the Sinner's Road bench
By Ryan Woodrow

Sinner’s Road is a somewhat hidden area in Hollow Knight: Silksong that you reach by climbing to the top of Greymoor, above the Halfway House, and can serve as an alternate route into Act 2 of the game. However, it’s an unforgiving area, with lots of annoying enemies, infested water that can prevent you from healing, and many spike traps that you’ll not doubt blunder into many times.
So, you’d be forgiven for wanting a bench somewhere in this relatively small area, so you have an easy checkpoint to come back to every time. There is such a bench in Sinner’s Road, there’s just one problem, it’s broken.
We’ll explain where to find the Sinner’s Road bench and how to fix it so you can have a nice rest.

To find this bench from the Greymoor entrance, head all the way along the first room, into the big vertical chamber. From there, you’ll see signs for the bench room. Follow them up until you get roughly halfway up. Take the exit into the room to the right, as unless you’ve already got the double jump in Silksong, you won’t be able to get all the way up that room yet.
Instead, navigate up and around this next room, exiting on the same side that you entered, but on a higher platform. This will let you jump across and drop down to the entrance to the bench room. It’s also worth dropping down a bit and hitting the lever to unlock a shortcut up the central shaft, just in case you die during the upcoming platforming gauntlet – which you probably will.
In this room, you’ll find the bench and Shakra, so you can buy the Sinner’s Road map. You’ll also need to spend 60 Rosaries to unlock the bench, but when you do, it gets stuck rising out of the ground, and you need to fix it before you can use it.
How to fix the Sinner’s Road bench – HK: Silksong
In order to fix the bench, you’ll need to unlock the Claw Grip/wall climb ability, so if you haven’t already, you’ll need to head out the west exit of Greymoor and get that from Shellwood, then come back.
Once you’ve done that, in the same room as the bench, jump up the wall to the left of the bench. At the top, there’s a section of wall that can be broken after a few hits. Go through here and you’ll be faced with a tricky platforming challenge where you’ll need to use your dive strike to bounce off of swinging spiked balls, over spike traps, which isn’t easy, and the only way to get better at it is to fail a lot.
Once you reach the end, you’ll find a bunch of gears that are jammed with roots, smack the roots a few times, and they’ll break, freeing the gears to turn and raising the bench for you.
