Kingdom Come 2 Source of Inspiration: Where to find Valerian and the Veles shrine

After getting our strange painter friend’s things back for him and starting the Brushes with Death DLC, you’ll meet him at Trosky Castle in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, he’ll task you with tracking down some inspiration for his next great work. He wants to know what Pagans worshipped before Christianity took over, and tasks you with finding a lost shrine to Veles, one of the Pagan gods.

This isn’t easy, as the only lead you have is an elderly woman who doesn’t have the best memory, and even when you finally get information out of her, it’s vague and somewhat unhelpful. We’ll walk you through this quest, explaining how to get the Valerian flowers for the woman and then where to go to find the shrine to Veles.

Where to get Valerian flowers – KCD2

The elderly woman says that having some of her favourite flowers might help her recover her memories. The best place to go to find them is just north of the cottage along the stream. If you go far enough up, you’ll find some white ball-like flowers that you can pick to get the five Valerian you need.

After that, you’ll need to grab a Tailor’s Kit and repair her old dress before finally reciting her some poetry, which will require passing a series of skill checks. The better you do in that last section, the better information she will give you as to the location of the shrine.

Where to find the Veles shrine – KCD2

Of the various leads the elderly woman can give you, you want the one in the far south of the map, through the forest south of Semine and west of Nebakov Fortress. When you get there, a bunch of bandits will be around the place that you’ll need to clear out, then you can approach the massive face carved into the rocks. Hold the “Look Around” button until Henry reacts to seeing it, then get closer and find the bloodied corpse in front of the shrine.

This will prompt you to return to the painter and bring him to the shrine so he can complete his painting and finish the quest.
