By Ryan Woodrow

If you’d like to see the many tracks of Mario Kart World from a different angle then you want to unlock Mirror Mode. This game mode sees all of the tracks flipped the opposite way, which gives you a whole new perspective on things as you drive around (and between) your favourite tracks.
It isn’t easy to unlock though, which a bunch of different requirements and conflicting reports on exactly what those requirements even are. We’ll explain how to unlock Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World so you can flip the tracks yourself.
Mirror Mode isn’t the toughest unlock in Mario Kart World though, check out our guide on how to unlock every Mario Kart World character to learn more about that.
How to unlock Mirror Mode in MKW
As we said, there are conflicting reports on how to do this, but here is all of the requirements we met when we unlocked the mode:
- Completed every Grand Prix in 150cc
- Completed every Knockout Tour in 150cc
- Completed 10 P-Switch Challenges in Free Roam
- Pressed 10 ? Switches in Free Roam
- Collected 10 Peach Medallions in Free Roam
Once you’ve fulfilled these requirements, you must complete the Special Cup one more time to trigger the cutscene that unlocks Mirror Mode.
Note that for the Grand Prix and Knockout Tours, it does not matter where you finish. We deliberately finished 24th in a couple of the Knockout Tours, and they still counted as “completed” for the sake of unlocking Mirror Mode.
