Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a bit cryptic at the best of times, and if it’s your first time playing the game, then you might be a bit puzzled when it’s time for the prison escape sequence. There’s only a single guard in the area, and there are actually multiple ways to escape the cell, but this one is definitely the easiest.

In this state Snake is weakened and doesn’t have access to any weapons, but he luckily does have a few items on his person that will help him get out quickly and easily. Just follow the instructions in this guide for everything you need to know.

How to escape Snake’s jail cell – MGS Delta

When you get captured and put into prison, there won’t be much in the room to use — except a Fork. Pick up the fork, and then use it in the Cure menu to get the Fake Death Pill that The Boss planted on you.

Next, knock on the cell door until you have the guard’s – Johnny’s – attention. Then use the Fake Death Pill in front of him.

In his panic, Johnny will rush to open the cell door. While on the Game Over screen, access your inventory and use the Revival Pill. This will make Snake pop back onto his feet so he can use CQC to disable Johnny and escape.

There are a bunch of other methods to open the cell door and escape – some which are hilarious and even contain some hidden secrets – but this is by far the most reliable way to get out.
