Outer Worlds 2: How to unlock double jump
By Ryan Woodrow

The Outer Worlds 2 is full of tricky terrain and old bases that are falling apart, so being able to jump long distances will make getting around a lot easier. Thankfully, that can be achieved pretty early on in the game, as while exploring Fairfield, you can acquire the Plasmatic Augmented Leap Enchancer (PALE), which will give you the ability to double jump for the rest of the game.
We’ll explain where you need to go to get your hands on this item so you can get around easily.
How to unlock double jump – Outer Worlds 2
When you first arrive in Fairfield, walk up the main path, and on the left, you’ll spot the jail. Here, just in front of the bounty terminal, is a Huell Chaudry who will ask you for assistance in seeking out his business partner to help get his invention off the ground on his way to a promotion. It will start the quest “Perilous Journey to the Grove”.
Head over to the quest marker and you’ll find a station raised up in the air on a scissor lift, and as you get close, you’ll find a few people arguing before one of them suddenly jumps from the top of the platform and splats dead on the ground. Bad news, this was the business partner you were sent to find, but good news, you can now take the PALE from his corpse.
As the man just so helpfully demonstrated, while this does allow you to double jump, it won’t save you from long falls, as it won’t work if you’re falling at terminal velocity. However, you can then use your new gadget to scale the nearby cliffs, reach the top of the platform, and lower it for the people still stuck up there for some XP before returning to Huell to tell him what happened.
