Palworld: How to get Coralum Ore
By Ryan Woodrow

Coralum is a new material added to in the Palworld Tides of Terraria update, and it’s a bit harder to get a hold of than most other minerals in the game, which is tough, because they’re used to craft a bunch of the cool new weapons added in this update, like the Charge Rifle and Energy Shotgun.
To get your hands on some Coralum Ore, you’ll need to interact with some of the game’s new mechanics, so we’ll explain the two main methods you can use to farm it.
Fish up salvage for Coralum Ore
The simplest of the two methods is to fish up salvage. When swimming out on the ocean, you’ll now find floating scraps and barrels which you can fish up for resources. To do it, you’ll need:
- To be riding a swimming Pal (flying Pals don’t count)
- A fishing rod
- A Powerful Fishing Magnet
The Powerful Fishing Magnet is a late-game item that you can craft from one Hexolite Ingot on either a Production Assembly Line 2 or an Advanced Civilization Workshop. Once you have one of those, you can pull up salvage and get the Coralum Ore, though each one you pull up will consume the magnet. In our testing, we would get between 5 and 15 ore per salvage.
Butcher Whalaska Ignis for Coralum Ore
Whalaska Ignis is one of the new Pals added in this update, and they drop quite a lot of Coralum Ore – up to 20 when butchered. You can catch one as a Level 58 Alpha Pal on the far west of the map, swimming around a small bit of land west of the volcanic island. You can use a combination of farming this encounter, and breeding to get a bunch of them to butcher them for their drops. If you need any help with that, you can check out our Palworld breeding guide.
