Pokémon GO Legends: Z-A Celebration Event – All Timed Research Tasks

It’s become a bit of a tradition that Pokémon GO accompanies the launch of other Pokémon games with a little celebration event, so it’s no surprise that Scopely has prepared something for the newly released Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Pokémon GO players can tackle a branching Timed Research that will run until October 20, 2025, at 08:00pm local time. As is usual for Timed Research Tasks, you’ll need to be done with them ahead of this deadline to be able to claim all of the rewards, as they’ll vanish otherwise.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event – All Timed Research Tasks

The event will ask you to make an important choice right at the start of the Timed Research: You can choose between the three starters present in Pokémon Legends Z-A — Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig. Your decision will take you to one of three possible branches with exclusive rewards, so make a choice that you won’t regret.

Chikorita – Step 1 of 3

  • Explore 1 km: Chikorita Candy x25
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Chikorita

Chikorita – Step 2 of 3

  • Power up Grass-type Pokémon 20 times: Chikorita Candy x50
  • Use 25,000 Stardust: Chikorita Candy x50
  • Complete all tasks in this step: XP x6,000, Poké Ball x10

Chikorita – Step 3 of 3

  • Evolve a Bayleef: Razz Berry x3
  • Earn 12 Hearts with your Buddy: Pinap Berry x3
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Poffin x1, Chikorita Candy XL x12

Totodile – Step 1 of 3

  • Explore 1 km: Totodile Candy x25
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Totodile

Totodile – Step 2 of 3

  • Power up Water-type Pokémon 20 times: Totodile Candy x50
  • Use 25,000 Stardust: Totodile Candy x50
  • Complete all tasks in this step: XP x6,000, Poké Ball x10

Totodile – Step 3 of 3

  • Evolve a Croconaw: Razz Berry x3
  • Earn 12 Hearts with your Buddy: Pinap Berry x3
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Poffin x1, Totodile Candy XL x12

Tepig – Step 1 of 3

  • Explore 1 km: Tepig Candy x25
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Tepig 

Tepig – Step 2 of 3

  • Power up Fire-type Pokémon 20 times: Tepig Candy x50
  • Use 25,000 Stardust: Tepig Candy x50
  • Complete all tasks in this step: XP x6,000, Poké Ball x10

Tepig – Step 3 of 3

  • Evolve a Pignite: Razz Berry x3
  • Earn 12 Hearts with your Buddy: Pinap Berry x3
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Poffin x1, Tepig Candy XL x12

The reward encounters with each starter net you Pokémon with a special seasonal background. Additionally, the Pokémon you choose will be more likely to be attracted by your Daily Adventure Incense.
