Pokémon Legends Z-A Racine Construction: Where to trade Colorful Screws

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is filled with activities, and one such activity in the game is collecting Colorful Screws. There are dozens of these collectible items scattered throughout the city – usually in high places – and you can trade them for extremely helpful items. 

While you get told where to trade in these Colorful Screws, the game doesn’t mark it on your map, nor is it required to visit the location until much later in the game. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, so you know where you can trade in your Colorful Screws, what you can trade them for, and where you can find Colorful Screws. 

Where to trade Colorful Screws – Legends ZA 

In order to trade in your Colorful Screws, you’ll need to visit Racine Construction, which as mentioned isn’t a required story location until well after you’re likely to have a large handful of Colorful Screws. 

Racine Construction is located in the southeast of Lumiose City, on South Boulevard on the eastern side of Vert Sector 7. This is relatively close to Hotel Z, as well, and thus not far from Wild Zone 1. The building is a large, industrial warehouse with a small sign and multiple workers outside, including one you can talk to. 

See the map above to see the location of Racine Construction. Once you’ve visited the location, you will unlock it as a fast travel point. 

Colorful Screw trading rewards – Legends ZA 

In front of Racine Construction is a man with a speech bubble above his head, inviting you to trade your Colorful Screws for Canari Plushies. These are the only reward for trading Colorful Screws, and they’re actually quite useful. 

Each Canari Plush, when obtained, confers a boost to certain aspects of your experience. One, for example, gives an increase to the experience your Pokémon gain, while another increases the amount of money you earn from trainer battles. Here’s the full list of Canari Plushies and their benefits: 

• Red Canari Plush – Increases the amount of experience earned by Pokémon 
• Gold Canari Plush – Increases the amount of prize money you earn from trainer battles 
• Pink Canari Plush – Increases the amount of Mega Shards you get from smashing Mega Crystals 
• Green Canari Plush – Increases the amount of hits from hostile Pokémon your trainer can take without blacking out 
• Blue Canari Plush – Increases the success rate of catching Pokémon 

Each Canari Plush has three levels of upgrades, and upgrading the plush increases its effect. Level 1 plushies cost 3 screws, level 2 plushies cost 5 screws, and level 3 plushies cost 8 screws. 

Where to find Colorful Screws – Legends ZA 

Colorful Screws can be found all around Lumiose City, but they’re almost exclusively in high-up places. You’ll find plenty of them on rooftops around the city, but the best way to find them is to look for Racine Construction’s scaffolding challenges. Whenever you see scaffolding that you can climb, there’s almost always a Colorful Screw to be found. 

You can spot Colorful Screw item balls very easily from a distance, thanks to their telltale purple glow. If you see a short, purple beam of light near the rooftops or in scaffolding, there’s a Colorful Screw hiding in there. 

That said, you won’t be able to get all Colorful Screws right away. There are some that require the Roto-Glide traversal ability, which is unlocked during the story, as it allows you to complete some of the more challenging scaffolding challenges and get to more rooftops. Some elevators are also locked behind side quests that unlock during the story, so you can’t rush through the game and collect every Colorful Screw right away.
