Pokémon Legends Z-A: All trade evolution Pokémon
By Ryan Woodrow

Pokémon Legends: Z-A isn’t as generous as its predecessor when it comes to trade evolutions. When Legends: Arceus gave us the Link Cable item that would allow us to evolve Pokémon without needing to trade, Z-A takes it back to how it was, meaning that there are certain Pokémon that will only evolve after being traded to another trainer.
We’ll explain how to link trade as well as give you a full list of every Pokémon in the game that requires a trade to evolve.
Trading isn’t the only tricky evolution method in the game, though. Check out our list of every friendship evolution Pokémon and every stone evolution Pokémon to help round out your Pokédex.
How to link trade – Legends ZA
To link trade, follow these steps:
- Open the menu and select “Link Play”
- Select “Link Trade” on the right of the screen
- Choose either “nearby” or “internet”, depending on how you want to connect with your trade partner
- Both trainers must enter the same eight-digit link code to connect
- The game will find and connect consoles who used the same link code for trading.
