In your quest to find Excalibur in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, after you either spare or kill Galahad, you’ll have to go to a strange place known as the Sunken City to meet a former ally of Arthur’s. However, getting there isn’t easy, as if you go to the quest marker, you’ll find that the entrance is broken. We’ll explain what you need to do to open the gateway and continue along the main quest.

How to enter the Sunken City

A Broken Gong
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon / Awaken Realms

Go to the quest marker and you’ll find the broken entrance, but it can be repaired. Look on the ground in front of the arch and pick up the Broken Gong, then take it to the blacksmith in the Horns of the South. If you show it to him, he’ll tell you that he can fix it, but he’ll need you to provide some of the materials.

Specifically, you’ll need to find 15 Etheral Cobwebs to mend the gong. This is a semi-rare resource that is most easily found in nests around the open world. These nests glow a bright blue and can be harvested for 10 Etheral Cobwebs at a time. Just be careful, as several other quests and mechanics consume this resource, so don’t use any up as you’re hunting for the 15 you need.

Once you have the stuff, take it to the blacksmith and you’ll get the gong repaired. Now you can head back to the entrance, hang the gong back up in the arch and use it to open your path to the Sunken City.
