Tainted Grail: Where to find a Really Special Herring and Cheese
By Ryan Woodrow

After completing the quest, The Silk Road for Órlaith, you’ll uncover a small dungeon where Rumpolt is waiting for you. He’s clearly gone a little mad, but he recommends you try out a dish he likes called Herring and Cheese. However, you can’t just use any Herring for this dish, you need to catch a Really Special Herring, which can only be found in one location, and Cheese isn’t all that common in this world either.
We’ll explain how to make the dish, as this quest’s reward is rather spectacular.
Really Special Herring location
Thankfully, the spot where you can fish for the Really Special Herring is marked on your map, and if you head over there, you’ll find a Fishing Rod next to a ruined boat on the small island. Equip the rod and press the interact button while looking into the ocean to cast your line. Wait for a bite, then complete the simple fishing minigame to get your hands on the fish.
Cheese location
You may have already found a bit of cheese in crates or barrels around the world, but if not, there is an easy place to get a guaranteed bit of cheese: Órlaith’s shop. She doesn’t actually sell it, mind, but on her merchant’s stand in the castle are two pieces of cheese. Taking them counts as theft, but if you sneak behind Órlaith, you can reach them while remaining unseen.
Cooking and the reward
Once you’ve got both ingredients, find a cooking pot – there’s one in the fort’s courtyard – mix them together, and just like that, you’ve got the Herring and Cheese dish. Take it to Rumpolt, and he’ll give you a cheese-based spell.
On a regular cast, this spell with remove some of your health to summon a slice of cheese. However, the strong cast will damage enemies, slowly turning them into cheese, so your quest as a dairymancer can begin.
