Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4: All Canada challenges and secret collectible locations

How to complete all of the challenges in THPS 3+4 Canada level, and find the secrets in the process.
Activision

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is out now, bringing fantastic recreations of a bunch of levels from two of the best games in the series’ history — as well as a few new levels exclusive to this game. Each level is filled with a series of challenges to complete and a few secrets hidden away for players to find.

The second level of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 in the remake is Canada, which is much bigger than the Foundry level and ramps up the difficulty quite a bit, with challenges that are both opaque and difficult to execute at times.

That’s why we’ve put together this guide for all the Canada challenges in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, as well as how to get the secret tape and other collectibles in the level.

THPS 3+4 Canada: All challenge solutions

There are a number of challenges that need little explanation in Canada and most stages. Among them are the high score challenges – simply perform tricks and combos to get to the score threshold – and SKATE letter collection, which should be fairly obvious to complete. Most SKATE letters are readily visible from the start of the level, and once you’ve found the S it should be a straight shot to the rest of them.

Nosegrind Around the Horn

Near the center of the map – as much as you can call it that – is a large tree surrounded by suspended ropes. You’ll need to get up onto the roof of the log cabin, then follow the wooden bridge around until you see a gap in the planks, signified by traffic cones. Ollie up to the rope then nosegrind (up + grind button) along the rope until it says “Around The Horn”. Land the trick to tick this one off your list.

Get Chuck Unstuck

Chuck is a poor child whose tongue is stuck to a frozen pole just next to the level’s starting area. Get on the other side of the fence so you’re on the same side as Chuck, then simply ollie into him to unstick him.

Bury That Bully!

Right by the starting area is a large jump ramp headed into the treetops. You’ll want to jump up this ramp, and then be prepared to slow down quickly, as it’s very easy to overshoot.

To your right, you’ll see a big bank of snow overhanging a suspended rope. Simply ollie into the snow, or grind along the rope, to knock the snow down and bury the bully.

Impress the Skaters

Impressing the skaters is very easy. Simply head to the dedicated skate park, just next to the starting area, and scattered around the park you’ll see five skaters. Approach a skater, do a decent combo – usually a few thousand or so will do the trick – to impress them, and once you’ve impressed all five you’re free to go.

THPS 3+4 Canada: How to get the secret tape

Getting the secret tape in the Canada level is a multi-step process that is difficult to execute and fairly time-consuming. It is doable within the default two-minute time limit if you don’t mess up, but you might have to take a few swings at it.

Firstly, you’ll need to make your way to the back of the level, beyond the giant tree in the Nosegrind Around The Horn challenge. There’s a downwards ramp that leads to a quarterpipe, and along the side of that ramp is a machine with a lever on it that you need to grind next to, raising a section of the quarterpipe.

After that, you’ll need to transfer from the lower part of the quarterpipe to the higher section, then jump across to a raised halfpipe. Heading through the halfpipe, you’ll see a train track, and you’ll want to grind alongside the track on the right. It’s a long grind, but at the end you’ll see your prize: the secret tape.

THPS 3+4 Canada: Iron Galaxy logo location

The Iron Galaxy logo is a much easier get, depending on your stats. If your speed and ollie stats are high enough, you can just get atop the roof of the log cabin, then turn around to see the logo atop a pole with a wire leading to it. Use the roof as a ramp to launch yourself up toward the wire, grinding along it to get to the top and collect the logo.

If your speed and ollie stats aren’t high enough, you won’t have enough momentum to get there, so you’ll have to do something far trickier. Follow the path you used for the secret tape, but grind alongside the left-hand rail instead. It’s a very long grind – easily three times that of the secret tape – that requires a lot of balance (or a game mod turned on in the settings), but it should give you more than enough momentum at the end to ollie off the tip of the rail and onto the wire leading to the logo.

THPS 3+4 Canada: Secret deck location

Finally, the secret deck is actually very easy to get. In the starting area, you’ll see a large quarterpipe in front of a suspended Canadian flag. In the middle of that flag is the secret deck, so just get some air on the quarterpipe to launch yourself straight into it.
