Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4: All Foundry challenges and secret collectible locations

How to complete all of the challenges in THPS 3+4 Foundry level, and find the secrets in the process.
Activision

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is a high quality remake of the third and fourth games in the venerated series, and those two games in particular are often seen as the best the series has to offer. They’re each filled with memorable and challenging levels, each of which is filled with a series of challenges to complete and a few secrets on offer.

The first level of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 in this recreation of the game is Foundry, which acts as a small introductory stage that concentrates the action into one relatively small room. That doesn’t mean it’s necessarily easy, though, and there are plenty of challenges that aren’t quite as straightforward as they sound.

That’s why we’ve put together this guide for all the Foundry challenges in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, as well as how to get the secret tape and other collectibles in the level.

THPS 3+4 Foundry: All challenge solutions

There are a number of challenges that need little explanation in Foundry and most stages. Among them are the high score challenges – simply perform tricks and combos to get to the score threshold – and SKATE letter collection, which should be fairly obvious to complete. Most SKATE letters are readily visible from the start of the level, and once you’ve found the S it should be a straight shot to the rest of them.

The rest of the challenges need a bit more explanation, and we’ve done exactly that below.

Indy Over the Half Pipe

This one is fairly easy — there’s a halfpipe in the middle of the room, immediately in front of the starting position, with small ramps on either side. You simply have to perform an indy (right+grab) while jumping over the halfpipe to tick this one off your list.

Soak the Foreman

To the right of the starting area is a raised platform surrounded by rails, in the center of which is a vat of liquid. If you gingerly make your way around to the back of the vat, you’ll see a large metal hook hanging from the ceiling, and if you grind along the rail underneath it, you’ll knock the metal hook into the foreman, pushing him into the vat and fulfilling the challenge.

Grind the Molten Bucket

Overhead on the map is a large, moving bucket of molten metal that you need to grind on in order to complete this challenge. There are multiple ways to approach this, but the easiest method is to wait for it to drop down to fill up the molten metal pool on the far side of the map, then simply jump onto the rail on the side using a nearby ramp or halfpipe and briefly grind atop it to complete the challenge.

Un-Jam 5 Valves

Around the edge of the room, mostly on ground level, is a series of five valves – they’re very easy to see, and most have a worker in front of it – each of which has a small rail above it. A well-timed jump and grind will “un-jam” these valves. Un-jamming all of the valves not only ticks the challenge off your list, but also opens up the generator core, a fun area that lets you easily rack up points and holds a few nice secrets.

THPS 3+4 Foundry: How to get the secret tape

The secret tape in the Foundry is fairly straightforward to get to, although it does require some fairly tight execution. Immediately to the right of the starting area is a small ramp that, when jumped from, should let you land on the overhead catwalk (see above) in the factory.

From there, follow your way along the right-hand side to get up to the large glass box in the middle of the room, then position yourself towards the far side of the room. You should be able to fairly easily see the secret tape from here, and you’ll need to jump across and skate or grind along the overhead girder to pick it up.

THPS 3+4 Foundry: Iron Galaxy logo location

Every THPS 3+4 stage has an Iron Galaxy logo hidden away in a secret location, the collection of which unlocks new options in the secret shop. Thankfully finding and getting the Iron Galaxy logo in Foundry is very straightforward. After completing the Un-Jam 5 Valves challenge, head into the newly unlocked generator core – it’s just behind where the player spawns – and hop up onto the ledge on the side of the bowl. Then, simply follow the spiral ramp upwards, and you’ll find the Iron Galaxy logo at the top of the ramp.

THPS 3+4 Foundry: Secret deck location

The secret deck in the Foundry level is a little bit of a pain to get to, requiring some tight execution and – depending on your character – a few skill point upgrades. You’ll need to get to the catwalk you used for the secret tape mission again, except this time you’ll want to head along the left side of the catwalk instead of the right.

On the far left side, you’ll want to grind along the rail of the catwalk, then ollie your way along the left wall onto a raised platform that contains the secret deck. This requires a fair amount of speed and jump height, so extended jumps and speed or ollie upgrades may be necessary to make it across. It’s also worth noting that there’s a bumpy rail along the top of the platform containing the deck, which can throw you off if you hit it at the wrong angle. You can grind along this if you’re struggling, but try to avoid accidentally grinding along the edge of the platform, because shorter characters may miss the deck if you do.
