Umamusume: How to get In Body and Mind
By Marco Wutz

In Body and Mind is a valuable skill for the final spurt in Umamusume, being an upgrade to the beloved Homestretch Haste. However, players are seeking this skill for another reason: It’s the requirement to fulfill one of the missions in the Tracen Special: Training the Trainer event.
Find out how to get In Body and Mind in Umamusume: Pretty Derby below.
How to obtain In Body and Mind in Umamusume
There are different ways to get In Body and Mind for your trainee. Two Umamusume command it as an inherent skill and are guaranteed access to it, as long as you upgrade the characters to the necessary level:
- Special Week
- Narita Brian
If you don’t have either of these characters or can’t currently upgrade them to the required level, there’s alternative options to grabbing In Body and Mind. Both [Special Dreamer] Special Week SSR and [Dreams Do Come True!] Winning Ticket SSR Support Cards offer the opportunity to obtain it.
You need to pick a specific dialog option during events to get the chance to receive the skill hint from Special Week’s SSR:
- A Roller Coaster of Feeling! – Top
Picking the bottom option in this event ends the chain and you won’t get to the final event, which has a random chance of giving you a hint for Homestretch Haste or In Body and Mind — making it not the optimal way to obtain the ability.
Winning Ticket’s SSR will automatically provide two skill hints for In Body and Mind after the Dream-Fulfilling Challenge! event — no specific dialog choices necessary.
If you don’t have access to either of these paths, there are two additional options to explore: You can borrow the Special Week SSR or Winning Ticket SSR cards from another player or borrow a parent Umamusume with a Spark for In Body and Mind from one of your friends. Similar to how Special Week’s SSR involves a bit of RNG to get the desired skill hint, it’s not guaranteed that the In Body and Mind Spark from a parent Uma gets triggered during one of the run’s two Inspiration events.
In Body and Mind is an improved version of Homestretch Haste, increasing your Umamusume’s velocity during the final spurt — a powerful ability that greatly improves your chances of victory.
