Become the arena’s most radiant star with the best Wuthering Waves Lupa build. This 5-Star Resonator wielding a Broadblade and dealing Fusion DMG is a potent Sub DPS for teams that are Fusion-focused.

Lupa comes with two different resources: Wolflame and Wolfaith. Wolflame is generated by hitting targets with Basic Attack as well as casting Resonance Skill and Liberation. She uses Wolflame to enhance her Heavy and Mid-Air Attacks, generating Wolfaith. Wolfaith, in turn, unlocks alternative Resonance Skills. After using these, Lupa can temporarily remain on the battlefield after being switched out, supporting the new active Resonator with attacks.

Her regular Resonance Skill, Shewolf’s Hunt, marks a target and enables her to deal additional damage to it.

Her Resonance Liberation, Fire-Kissed Glory, deals Fusion DMG and can be followed up with her Skill to activate the Pack Hunt effect as well as give the active Resonator three automatic dodges. Pack Hunt increases the team’s ATK and Fusion DMG — a bonus that increases in case the team only consists of Fusion Resonators. One of her Inherent Skills adds the Glory effect into the mix, which allows Resonators to partially ignore the enemy’s Fusion RES with more Fusion Resonators once again boosting the strength of the bonus. This ability is the most crucial part of Lupa’s kit — all those special Heavy Attacks and Resonance Skills aren’t all that important in the grand scheme of things.

Lupa’s Outro Skill provides the incoming character with Fusion DMG and Basic Attack DMG Amplification.

Obtaining duplicates of Lupa further bolsters her might with Sequence Nodes 2 and 3 being especially beneficial for her role as a Sub DPS, as they contribute additional teamwide buffs.

Best Lupa weapons – Wuthering Waves

Lupa’s signature weapon, Wildfire Mark, provides her with a variety of benefits. More ATK, CRIT DMG, and Resonance Liberation DMG bolster her personal damage output, but the Broadblade crucially comes with a teamwide Fusion DMG buff as well. Whenever Lupa activates the blade’s Resonance Liberation DMG boost (via her Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation), she can extend its duration by dealing Heavy Attack DMG. Triggering this extension activates the teamwide buff.

It’s noteworthy that the selection of really suitable weapons for Lupa begins and ends with her signature piece — everything else is quite subpar.

Best Lupa weapons in WuWa:

  • Wildfire Mark (5-Star)
  • Lustrous Razor (5-Star)
  • Discord (4-Star)
  • Autumntrace (4-Star)
  • Waning Redshift (4-Star)

Best Lupa Echoes – Wuthering Waves

Supporting her role as a Fusion DMG amplifier, the Flaming Clawprint Sonata Effect is ideal for Lupa. Lioness of Glory as its Main Echo increases Lupa’s personal damage output.

Lupa desires all the regular DPS stats — CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, and ATK. More Resonance Liberation DMG helps her personal damage output as well. Getting a bit of Energy Regeneration will guarantee smooth rotations and essentially permanent Liberation uptime, which is critical for her. If you’re using one of the Broadblades providing Energy Regeneration, you’ll likely already have enough and won’t need to worry about getting it as an Echo stat. Target around 125% for optimal efficiency.

Best Lupa Echoes in WuWa:

  • Sonata Effect: Flaming Clawprint (5-Set)
  • Main Echo: Lioness of Glory

Best Lupa teams – Wuthering Waves

Lupa is very much geared towards slotting into mono-Fusion compositions, though the main importance is that her team’s Main DPS deals Fusion DMG.

  • Brant (Main DPS), Changli (Sub DPS), Lupa (Sub DPS)

Lupa is a natural Sub DPS to accompany Brant, as she provides him with vital Fusion and Basic Attack DMG. Changli doesn’t benefit much from the latter, but certainly likes the Fusion-related boosts and in turn bolsters Lupa’s own abilities with her kit.

Encore and Chixia are fantastic alternatives to this team and both benefit massively from Lupa, giving Lupa a lot of value for low-budget players. If you can’t field a full Fusion composition, the usual suspects of Verina and Shorekeeper are excellent additions.
