Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: All Lynel locations

Just like in Breath of the Wild, you’ll likely stumble upon the powerful Lynels early on in Tears of the Kingdom. Unless you’re highly skilled, approaching these giant centaur-like creatures too early will result in you getting utterly annihilated, but as you progress and get better gear, you may want to start going out of your way to hunt them down.
Their horns are some of the best fuse items in the game, all offering high-damage boosts, and the weapons they can drop are pretty powerful too – especially the triple-fire bows and strong shields. Plus, you’ll need to hunt down several of each type if you want to fully upgrade the Barbarian Armor.

How to find white/silver-maned Lynels – Zelda TOTK
The color of Lynel’s mane indicated how strong it is. In order from weakest to strongest, the hierarchy is:
- Red-maned Lynel
- Blue-maned Lynel
- White-maned Lynel
- Silver-maned Lynel
Some spawn points seem to be guaranteed (for example, the one in West Hyrule Plains always spawns a Red-maned Lynel) but others are a little more random, or based on your hidden progression value.
The intricacies of how it works are unclear, but in short, the more Lynels (and enemies in general) that you kill, the higher chance there is of higher-tier enemies spawning. For example, Silver-maned Lynels won’t spawn in the world until you’ve defeated at least one of every other Lynel type.
In order for a new Lynel type to have a chance of spawning, you must kill the ones currently sitting on the spawns and then wait for the new blood moon to respawn them. Typically, silver Lynels will spawn to replace a defeated white Lynel.
Alternatively, you can get a guaranteed silver Lynel by going into the colosseum in the Depths, where you’ll fight one of each Lynel, and get Majora’s Mask as a reward.
