Serve justice in your own way with the best Zenless Zone Zero Hugo build. This Attack Agent comes with a unique mechanic that trades additional damage for enemy stun time, making him especially dependent on his team to maximize his DPS.

Hugo can trigger Totalize on a stunned enemy, which immediately removes the stun effect from the target and deals damage to that enemy based on the duration the removed stun had left — in essence: The earlier during a stun you trigger Totalize, the more damage it will deal. Totalize can be triggered by Hugo’s EX Special Attack or Ultimate. Totalize also inflicts some Daze on the target after removing the stun, allowing Hugo and his team to inflict the next stun quickly.

If Hugo himself stuns an enemy or hits someone with his Chain Attack, he enters the Dark Abyss Reverb state, increasing his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG and unlocking an alternative Basic Attack. It’s also worth noting that every Stun Agent on the team increases Hugo’s ATK.

  • Full Name: Hugo Vlad
  • Role: Attack
  • Damage Type: Ice
  • Faction: Mockingbird
  • Rarity: S-Rank

When at least one Stun or Ice Agent is on Hugo’s team, his Chain Attack and Totalize deal more damage and his EX Special Attack restores additional Energy.

Obtaining duplicates of Hugo unlocks his Mindscape Cinema Levels and further bolsters his prowess:

Myriad Eclipse, his signature W-Engine, delivers both in copious amounts and additionally provides its wearer the Absolute Zero Death Sentence effect for a few seconds after dealing Ice DMG to enemies with their EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate. This effect allows the wearer to ignore some of the enemy’s DEF with every hit.

ZZZ – Hugo: best teams

Hugo’s kit almost dictates his use as a Main DPS with two Stun Agents at his side, though you can of course play him in a more traditional composition with one Sub DPS and one Support.

  • Hugo (Main DPS), Lighter (Sub DPS), Lycaon (Sub DPS)
  • Bangboo: Robin

Lighter and Lycaon are natural additions to Hugo. In addition to superb Daze infliction, Lighter is capable of decreasing the Ice and Fire RES of enemies and increasing the Ice and Fire DMG of his allies. Lycaon, too, decreases targets’ Ice RES and thereby helps Hugo deal more damage.

Generally, though, any Stun Agents will do good work for Hugo, so Anby, Koleda, Qingyi, Pulchra, and Trigger are perfectly viable options.

ZZZ – Hugo: promotion materials

After obtaining Hugo, you’ll want to level him up as quickly as possible to make use of his talents in combat. Here are the materials required to upgrade him to Level 60:

  • Basic Stun Certification Seal x4

You can obtain Certification Seals from the VR Combat Simulation. Advanced materials may be crafted using lower-level materials as well. Dennies can be earned in the VR Combat Simulation as well as through operating the Random Play video store.

Leveling Hugo up is only half the game, though — you’ll want to upgrade all of his skills as well to get the most out of his performance in battle. Here are the materials required to max out his Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack — we’re giving you the total you need, so just divide everything by five to get the materials needed for a single move:

  • Basic Freeze Chip x25

  • Specialized Freeze Chip x250
  • Hamster Cage Pass x5
  • Dennies x2,500,000

Finally, you can level up his Core Skill six times to make Hugo stronger, for which you need the following materials:

  • Higher Dimensional Data: Murderous Obituary x60
  • Finale Dance Shoes x9
  • Dennies x405,000

Higher Dimensional Data: Ethereal Pursuit is available from the Expert Challenge: Notorious – Dullahan, while Finale Dance Shoes must be acquired through Notorious Hunt: Twin Marionettes.
