Zenless Zone Zero – Vivian build and promotion guide
By Marco Wutz

Prophesize your foes’ downfall with the best Zenless Zone Zero Vivian build and redefine your curse into a blessing. Vivian is an Anomaly Agent dealing Ether DMG and provides this service from off the field a lot of the time, enabling you to slot her into many compositions.
Table of Contents
Vivian essentially has two modes of fighting while she’s on the field: the Noblewoman state and the Fluttering Frock state. She activates the Noblewoman state via her Basic Attack combo and recovers Flight Feathers while attacking in this state. Flight Feathers are consumed to enter the Fluttering Frock state, being transformed into Guard Feathers. Vivian will enter this state either following an attack combo in the Noblewoman state or by holding Basic Attack during her fourth attack when not in any state.
Swapping Agents while she’s in the Fluttering Frock state allows Vivian to perform attacks and she can consume Guard Feathers to launch off-field attacks when her team mates execute EX Special Attacks. Vivian can have five Guard Feathers at a time.
- Full Name: Vivian Banshee
- Role: Anomaly
- Damage Type: Ether
- Faction: Mockingbird
- Rarity: S-Rank
Aside from generating Flight Feathers from her Noblewoman state, Vivian can restore them by making an Assist Follow-Up, an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate.
Vivian’s Core Passive allows her off-field attacks to trigger Abloom on enemies suffering from an Anomaly, its damage being based on the Anomaly Proficiency of the original Anomaly DMG, i.e. the Agent inflicting that Anomaly. Additionally, Vivian’s off-field attacks as well as the ones made during swaps inflict Vivian’s Prophecy on foes suffering from an Attribute Anomaly, dealing Ether DMG based on her ATK to them over time in addition to their original damage.
Teaming Vivian up with at least one other Anomaly or Ether Agent allows Vivian to execute her off-field attack when characters apply an Attribute Anomaly on enemies in addition to supporting their EX Special Attacks. Furthermore, the team’s Corruption DMG is increased.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema, which can be leveled up by pulling duplicates of her, has the following effects:
Level | Effects |
---|---|
1 | - Vivian gains 1 Flight Feather whenever she has consumed a total of 4 Guard Feathers. |
2 | - Vivian’s Ether Anomaly Buildup Rate rises by 25%. |
3 | - Increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack level by 2. |
4 | - Vivian’s swap-out and off-field attacks always land critical hits and increase her ATK by 12% for 12s. |
5 | - Increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack level by 2. |
6 | - Vivian’s Ether DMG increases by 40%. |
ZZZ – Vivian: best W-Engines
Vivian fancies additional Anomaly Proficiency and ATK to maximize her damage output — and Flight of Fancy, her signature W-Engine, greatly helps with that. It serves a generous portion of Anomaly Proficiency and increases the wielder’s Anomaly Buildup Rate. Whenever the wearer deals Ether DMG, their Anomaly Proficiency is further increased, this effect stacking up to six times.
Best W-Engines for Vivian in ZZZ:
- Flight of Fancy (S-Rank)
- Flamemaker Shaker (S-Rank)
- Electro-Lip Gloss (A-Rank)
ZZZ – Vivian: best Drive Discs
Continuing the above theme, we’re looking to maximize Vivian’s Anomaly DMG by increasing her Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery across the board. ATK, CRIT, and PEN are the best stats to fill the rest of the slots, squeezing further damage out of her.
Best Drive Disc sets for Vivian in ZZZ:
- Phaethon’s Melody (4) + Freedom Blues (2) / Chaos Jazz (2) – +8% Anomaly Mastery, +45 Anomaly Proficiency for 8s for the wearer whenever any squad member uses an EX Special Attack and +25% Ether DMG for the wearer when it wasn’t the wearer’s EX Special Attack, +30 Anomaly Proficiency.
Best Drive Disc stats for Vivian in ZZZ:
- Partition 1 – HP (Primary), Anomaly Proficiency, ATK %, CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate

ZZZ – Vivian: best teams
Vivian is a superb Sub DPS unit to put on any team, though she shines brightest as part of an Anomaly-focused line-up.
- Miyabi (Main DPS), Vivian (Sub DPS), Soukaku (Support)
- Bangboo: Robin
Vivian is a perfect addition to a Section 6 team with Miyabi or Yanagi as the Main DPS, giving them fire support from off-field and triggering lots of Disorders on enemies. Soukaku is an able Support, especially on a Miyabi team, though Astra Yao is another excellent option. You could even forgo a Support unit entirely and put someone like Burnice on the team for real Anomaly havoc.

ZZZ – Vivian: promotion materials
After obtaining Vivian, you’ll want to level her up as quickly as possible to make use of her talents in combat. Here are the materials required to upgrade her to Level 60:
- Basic Anomaly Certification Seal x4
- Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal x32
- Controller Certification Seal x30
- Dennies x800,000
You can obtain Certification Seals from the VR Combat Simulation. Advanced materials may be crafted using lower-level materials as well. Dennies can be earned in the VR Combat Simulation as well as through operating the Random Play video store.
Leveling Vivian up is only half the game, though — you’ll want to upgrade all of her skills as well to get the most out of her performance in battle. Here are the materials required to max out her Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack — we’re giving you the total you need, so just divide everything by five to get the materials needed for a single skill:
- Basic Ether Chip x25
- Advanced Ether Chip x75
- Specialized Ether Chip x250
- Hamster Cage Pass x5
- Dennies x2,500,000
Chips can be farmed in the VR Combat Simulation with Advanced and Specialized Chips also being available through crafting. Hamster Cage Passes are a rare material that can be grabbed from time-limited events as well as the New Eridu City Fund.
Finally, you can upgrade her Core Skill six times to make Vivian stronger, for which you need the following materials:
- Higher Dimensional Data: Thunderous Dragon x60
- Sycophant’s Refinement x9
- Dennies x405,000
Higher Dimensional Data: Thunderous Dragon will be available from the Expert Challenge: Thracian, while Sycophant’s Refinement must be acquired through Notorious Hunt: Sacrifice – Bringer.
