Oxide Games and Stardock have announced that they are working on Ashes of the Singularity 2 and are targeting a PC release in 2026.

Inspired by the large scale of the Supreme Commander series, 2016’s Ashes of the Singularity was Oxide Games’ debut title. The studio followed it up with a standalone expansion that was launched in the same year before working on 4X turn-based strategy game Ara: History Untold, which was released in 2024.

Ashes of the Singularity 2 will build on the first game’s foundations and introduce humans into the setting, which previously focused on powerful artificial intelligences warring amongst each other. Hoping to reclaim Earth, the United Earth Forces must contend with forces from AI and Post-Humans.

A single-player campaign as well as co-op and multiplayer modes will be featured alongside new units and gameplay mechanics.

“Ten years ago, we set a new, literal benchmark for RTS games with massive battles and groundbreaking technology,” commented Stardock CEO Brad Wardell. “With Ashes of the Singularity II, we’re raising the bar even higher, delivering strategic gameplay depth that RTS fans have always dreamed of.”

He added: “Obviously, in the first game, the number one request was to have a human faction. Back then, we just couldn’t support having thousands of organic, walking, squishy people in the world and thus had to design in favor of machines. We’re really excited to bring the humans into the war and watch how they fare against the massive mechanical armies of the Substrate and PHC.”
