Bethesda debuts new trailers for latest Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online updates

Both on the goofier side.

Things don’t always have to be so serious — especially in video games. That certainly seems to be the spirit of the two trailers Bethesda debuted at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 for Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online.

Fallout 76: Gone Fission was released earlier this month and brought the one summer activity to the game that players simply can’t get enough of — fishing. Available for free across platforms, the update added fishing mechanics and several related adventures. Players can select different bait and fishing rod options, need to mind the weather conditions, and must choose the perfect location to cast their hooks into the water.

From common fish over rare axolotl (there’s a dozen versions of these, which rotate on a monthly basis) to so-called local legends, the waters of Appalachia hold many surprises — as does Fisherman’s Rest, a new location in the Mire that’s home to the giant hermit crab Linda-Lee, who’s happy to take some fish and give players a legendary item in return.

True to Fallout’s general theme, the newly-released launch trailer for the update has 1950s newsreel vibes mixed with some nature documentary flair.

No less goofy is the latest trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMO that’s still going strong over a decade since it was initially released. Its latest update, Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, launched on PC earlier this month and is set to arrive on consoles on June 18, 2025.

We follow an adventurer and his adorable lion cub pet through their adventures and wholesome daily life. Contrary to the update’s name, there are no worms to be seen anywhere.

Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 brought a new playable zone to Western Solstice, introduced a subclassing system, and continued the game’s main story.
