Players had to wait a while for housing to arrive in World of Warcraft, but everything Blizzard has revealed about the upcoming system so far has led to a lot of excitement for it, especially as the developers seem to have learned a lot from the weaknesses in the corresponding systems from competitors such as Final Fantasy 14.

In its latest update on housing, Blizzard delved into the concept of neighborhoods. There will be private neighborhoods, which can be created by guilds or simply a group of players, and public neighborhoods. Crucially, there will not be an artificial scarcity of building plots: New instances will be created for public neighborhoods when they are in demand, so everyone who wants a house in World of Warcraft will be able to get one at an affordable price.

Blizzard is making it easy to move neighborhoods as well: Players can simply pack up their entire house and take it with them somewhere else, where they can unpack it as it was.

There will also be plenty of options to customize who can visit your property, accounting for people who are happy with receiving visitors and those who simply want to have a place for themselves.

All neighborhoods will have access to endeavors, which are limited-time events themed after the various cultures and species of Azeroth. All neighbors can work together to complete associated tasks to unlock special decorations and other items for the whole group, which can transform the look of the entire neighborhood. Helping with endeavors also yields favor, which can be used to upgrade your house and earn other rewards.

Housing is planned to arrive in World of Warcraft towards the end of 2025.
