Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is set to arrive on PC and mobile in 2025

Anime MMORPG Blue Protocol never made it to its planned global release by Amazon Games due to its failure to capture an audience in Japan, but Chinese developer Shanghai Bokura Network Technology has picked up the pieces of Bandai Namco’s game and are set to release them as Blue Protocol: Star Resonance in 2025.
BPSR will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store as well as on mobile devices worldwide and support cross-play between the platforms.
The MMORPG will feature the same anime aesthetics as the original game, though character visuals have been transformed to look more in line with popular titles like Genshin Impact.
Other parts of the game have been changed quite drastically: BPSR will be an open-world title with a dynamic combat system that doesn’t have too much in common with the original game. Elements like classes, talents, skills, and equipment have been adapted to fit the new approach.
Players still get to customize their character to their own tastes, though, be it visually or in terms of gameplay. MMO aspects such as guilds and trading will be present as well.
BPSR will feature gacha aspects, according to beta testers, though these are all focused around cosmetics. Most important for some players will be the fact that there will be a fishing system in the open world.
More details on the game are bound to follow in the coming weeks and months, now that the cat is out of the bag.
