CD Projekt RED shows off The Witcher 4 tech demo shot on PS5
By Marco Wutz

Polish developer CD Projekt RED has shown off brand-new footage from The Witcher 4 during the State of Unreal 2025 presentation. It published a “cinematic” as well as a “gameplay” demo — both recorded at 60 FPS on a PS5. All features used to generate this in-engine footage will be available on every platform the game will be released on, though, so there is nothing to be seen here that only PS5 players will get to enjoy.
Not to create any false impressions: The “gameplay” video (not representative of actual gameplay) merely has Ciri walk through a lively town, so there’s no real action to speak of, but it’s still visually impressive and shows what kind of graphics players can expect from the game.
You can find the footage from The Witcher 4 about 30 minutes into the livestream embedded below.
CDPR stated that the tech demo takes place in the region of Kovir, which will be a new location for the game series. Ciri and her trusty horse, Kelpie, make their way to the port town Valdrest.
Epic Games and CDPR have been working together closely to tune Unreal Engine 5 for this title and the results clearly speak for themselves.
