Platforming adventure Chibi-Robo is coming to Switch 2 GameCube collection later this month
By Ryan Woodrow

The Nintendo Switch 2’s GameCube Classics library has been a bit slower to grow than the others, likely thanks to how much more complex GameCube games are compared to NES or SNES titles.
Still, Nintendo has now confirmed the fifth classic GameCube title, Chibi-Robo, which will be added to the collection on August 21, 2025. The game was originally released in Japan in 2005 before making its way to the West in 2006, and it was a surprise hit. The 3D platformer saw you play as a cute robot the size of a mouse who had to navigate around humans’ homes to complete tasks for them and other toys.

The unique perspective and fun gameplay captured the hearts of many, and it’s remained a beloved classic ever since, so it’s no surprise that it’s one of the earliest titles Nintendo has brought to its classic collection.
It joins The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, Super Mario Strikers, and SoulCalibur 2 in the collection, which you can only access by subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass, which costs $49.99 a year. It will also give you access to other classic collections like Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Mega Drive.
