Critical Role-based video game is in early planning stages

The tabletop group is getting its own game.
Critical Role

The adventures of Critical Role have already been transformed into a successful anime series and now the setting is going to be home to a video game: Critical Role has officially partnered with AdHoc Studios to develop a title based on the world of Exandria, the setting of the group’s most popular Dungeons & Dragons adventures.

Three Critical Role members – Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, and Matthew Mercer – have been working with AdHoc on its adventure game Dispatch alongside Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright.

Variety reports that the trio has been so impressed with the project that the group ended up choosing the studio as partners for the Critical Role game.

That said, it’ll be a while before anything in relation to the game will materialize. According to Willingham, the project is very much in the “tossing around ideas” phase and has no budget, scope, and many other fundamentals as of yet.
