Good news, Crusader Kings 3 is adding yet more ways for you to die horribly

All Under Heaven will make nature itself your enemy.
Paradox Interactive

All things considered, nature has been pretty chill in Crusader Kings 3 so far — sure, you can be infected by a plague or be gored by a boar while out hunting, but at least things like earthquakes and floodings aren’t after you… yet. Because they will be, once Paradox has launched All Under Heaven, the upcoming mega-expansion pushing the game’s boundaries to the Pacific.

Although natural disasters won’t be all too common – at least in regions that have historically not suffered too much from them – they can become a major threat to your rule by undermining your authority, weakening your defenses and economy, or outright killing you. Of course, this blade is double-edged: A timely earthquake destroying the fortifications around a castle you’re looking to attack is basically divine intervention in your favor.

Such events will be presented as a Situation — an event that develops across several steps and gives players plenty of options to make important decisions, which influence their outcome. After natural disasters, players will also get the opportunity to rebuild and assist their affected subjects via a Great Project, reaping all sorts of benefits.

Depending on the timing and severity of a natural disaster, they can make or break dynasties — yet another factor to consider when you plan campaigns and spin intrigues.

Paradox previously confirmed that it was working on boosting CK3’s performance in anticipation of All Under Heaven.

In addition to revealing All Under Heaven’s natural disaster mechanics, Paradox announced that the next Event Pack for CK3, Coronations, will be available for PC on September 9, 2025. You’ll gain access to a new Activity of the same name through this DLC, bolstering your Legitimacy or even inaugurating your rule with an old-fashioned murder of a rival.
