Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy announced for iOS and Android

Square Enix has officially announced Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy for iOS and Android. The mobile game is planned to be released in 2026 as a free-to-play title. A closed beta test will be held from November 7 to 14, 2025, on Android in the United States, China, and Japan. You can apply for test participation on the official website.
Set in modern-day Tokyo, the game depicts a scenario in which strange crystals and monsters suddenly appear in the city — but fear not, for brave heroes also emerge to save the day. The heroes, of course, are various characters from the Final Fantasy series, which will be divided in four classes: Ranged, Melee, Support, and Agile.
Players will be able to earn – and purchase – modern-day outfits for the characters as well as iconic cutscenes and music from the franchise to customize their experience. The game itself follows a “3v3 team boss battle arena” formula, as explained by Square Enix. Basically, there seems to be a competition between two players, who both field a team of three characters, on who can defeat boss characters at a quicker pace.
The following characters have been confirmed for the game:
- Warrior of Light (Support)
- Kain Highwind (Melee)
- Krile Mayer Baldesion (Support)
- Terra Branford (Ranged)
- Cloud Strife (Melee)
- Rinoa Heartilly (Ranged)
- Zidane Tribal (Agile)
- Lightning (Agile)
- Gaia (Melee)
- Prompto (Ranged)
