Elden Ring Nightreign update 1.02 delayed to July 31
By Marco Wutz

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have delayed the release of update 1.02 for Elden Ring Nightreign, which was supposed to be published on July 30, 2025, for one day.
Elden Ring Nightreign 1.02 will instead be out on all platforms after July 31, 2025, at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST / 10am CEST. Patch 1.02 is set to bring a dedicated two-player mode to the co-op game.
The reason behind the scheduling change is not a technical one: Following an earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula to the northwest of Japan, a tsunami warning has been issued for the region. Evidently, the developer thought it better to push the patch back a little than to risk it and tempt someone into playing Nightreign instead of looking after their own safety first — not to mention the studio’s own employees, who won’t have to worry about surveilling the release this way. Mother Nature is a boss not even FromSoftware wants to challenge.
This delay also pertains to the next Everdark cycle, which is set to unleash enhanced Nightlords Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog. The bosses will be available after the update is live alongside an Everdark Sovereign version of Augur.
