Elden Ring’s Nintendo Switch 2 port has been delayed to 2026

FromSoftware needs time for optimization.

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring will be released in 2026 instead of this year “to allow time for performance adjustments.”

The Tarnished Edition, as the Switch 2 port is billed, contains the main game as well as the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. It will also deliver a new armor set and customization options for Torrent, though these extras will be available to players on other platforms as well.

Given that FromSoftware games are known for their shaky optimization at the best of times, the delay is probably good news for Switch 2 players, even if it means waiting a bit longer to dive in.
