Amplitude’s Endless series is the next video game IP to become an anime
By Marco Wutz

Amplitude Studios is primarily known for its turn-based strategy games, many of which are set in a fantasy and sci-fi universe of its own making — including the upcoming Endless Legend 2. Said Endless IP has now been announced to get an adaptation as an animated series from Passion Pictures' animation studio in Paris.
The series is currently in development with Passion Paris and Amplitude’s creative team closely collaborating with each other. Passion Paris has previously worked on animated trailers for titles like League of Legends, Warframe, and Endling.
“We’re so excited to be stepping into the Endless universe,” commented Caroline Audebert, the executive producer at Passion Paris, in a press release. “Amplitude has built a world that’s rich with lore, characters and atmosphere and we’re working closely with their team to develop a visual style and storytelling approach that captures what players already love about the series, while opening the door to new stories and audiences.”
Romain de Waubert de Genlis, CEO and co-founder at Amplitude Studios, added: “Endless is a universe we’ve been shaping with passion for years, hand in hand with our community. Seeing it take a new leap forward through this partnership with Passion Pictures is truly a dream come true. We’re proud of this collaboration and can’t wait to see the adventure come to life in a whole new format.”
The French game developer was part of SEGA from 2016 to 2024, when the studio bought itself out from the Japanese company to become independent once again. It recently received outside funding from additional investors and teamed up with publisher Hooded Horse for the release of Endless Legend 2, its next turn-based strategy game. The partnership with Passion Pictures to create an animated series based on Amplitude’s own IP is a major step to diversify its revenue stream and make it less dependent on pure game sales.
