Endless Legend 2’s newly-revealed third faction wants to eat the others for dinner

Amplitude has officially revealed more details about the third faction players will be able to use in Endless Legend 2, the French studio’s upcoming turn-based strategy game — and it’s a hive of semi-insectoids that’s very hangry. The Necrophage, as they’re called, simply want to eat all other creatures they encounter and protect their precious queen along the way.

Unlike the other factions, which can expand across the map by founding more cities, they are limited to a single settlement where their queen is located. However, they can build tunnels all over the world to quickly move from one place to another. The Necrophage can also occupy a region to exploit its resources and send them back to their hive cluster.

As you might imagine, the Necrophage do not share the harmonious or diplomatic approach of the peaceloving Aspect or at least the practicality of the humans. They are aggressive and they are hungry and any ambassadors you send to them will probably be that day’s dinner.

Winning battles and taking over cities provides more nourishment for the swarm and losing a few units here and there means very little, because there certainly are more of them.

Similar to the Zerg in StarCraft, Necrophages start off as larvae that can be specialized into a variety of more useful and powerful forms.
