Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 patch notes: The biggest changes in Fortnite Super
By Ryan Woodrow

After a month’s break from the usual Fortnite cycle to celebrate Star Wars, we’re back to classic action, and it’s once again time for superheroes to take over the island. It’s not Marvel this time though, as instead the DC pantheon of heroes are leading the way, with David Corenswet’s Superman leading the way in Chapter 6 Season 3, also known as Fortnite Super.

New map
As is standard, the island gets a bit of an overhaul with POIs every season. This time around, we’re getting the Supernova Academy, where many of our heroes will be based, honing their craft. Utopia City, which will no doubt be in for a rough time as supervillains try to bring ruin to it, and Demon’s Domain, which pretty much does what it says on the tin.
New Battle Pass
The other thing you can guarantee with a new season is the start of a new Battle Pass, this time featuring DC heroes like Robin and Superman alongside a great lineup of original superheroes, letting you assemble your own ultimate team. For full details on every skin, check out our guide to every unique Battle Pass skin in Fortnite Super.
New OG and Lego Pass
Battle Royale isn’t the only mode starting a new season today, as Fortnite OG and LEGO Fortnite are also entering a new season with this update, meaning you’ll be able to start new passes for them too. You can buy them individually in the item shop, or you can get them all if you subscribe to Fortnite Crew.
Hero Ranks
Within every match you will now be given a Hero Rank that conveys certain bonuses. You’ll start at Rank C and can reach S+ by performing the following actions:
- Eliminating opponents
- Eliminating henchmen
- Surviving Storm phases
- Taking Sprites to their shrines
As you rank up, you’ll power-up the new Boon items, with S+ players getting every Boon they haven’t already collected in a match. Plus, the new Hero Cache chests will drop better loot for higher rank players.
Boons
Now in chests, you can find Boon items that can randomly appear in chests or be bought at the Lab in Supernova Academy. Note that these are different from Medallions, which you get for defeating NPC bosses. For a full roundup, check out our guide to every Medallion and Boon in Fortnite Super.
Hero items
While there is an array of new guns this season, the main items you’re looking for are Hero items, which will give you the powers of the man superheroes featured this season. Here is a full list:
- Myst Gauntlets – Fire a cone of shadow energy in front of you
- Killswitch Revolvers – Dual pistols that allow you to dodge and activate Hangtime to slow your fall and fire with high accuracy.
- Tracking Visor – Scans the battlefield, shows enemy footprints, and highlights nearby opponents.
- Bass Boost – Shoots sound waves that damage and repel opponents and structures. You can use the secondary fire to launch yourself up into the air.
There are also a few items being added later this season, including:
- Surf Cube – A surfboard that lets you glide through the sky.
- Storm Beast’s Pom Poms – Let you transform into Storm Beast and deal serious damage.
- Myst Form – Transforms you into a flock of shadowy ravens that make you invulnerable for a short time. This can be combined with the Myst Gauntlets to unlock Ascended Myst, a more powerful form of both items.
Father’s Day collab skins
To celebrate Father’s Day, a bunch of sitcom dads from Fox series are being added as skins to the Fortnite item shop. Bob Belcher from Bob’s Burgers, Cleveland Brown from Family Guy, and Hank Hill from King of the Hill will all be added to the item shop at some point in the coming weeks. Fortnite can be a dad game too.
When does Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 end?
This season is a full-length season, unlike Galactic Battle. It is set to end on August 8, 2025 at 2:30am ET, though this does sometimes move by a day or two during the season.
