By Marco Wutz

Frostpunk 2: Fractured Utopias, the first DLC for the icy city-builder, is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on December 8, 2025.
Fractured Utopias will focus on expanding the scope of the game’s Utopia Builder mode. A host of brand-new mechanics and content will be added to give players more tough choices to make.
“Each faction now envisions its own unique Utopia, structured into a tree and powered by affinities. As you earn their trust, you'll unlock specialized laws, buildings, and abilities that reinforce their distinct identity. Unlock all nodes of the Utopia Tree to enact a singular vision on the city — binding your entire society to a single path forward and permanently resolving all the Tension,” the content pack’s description says.
The DLC is set to add eight unique faction utopias to the game, each bringing their very own systems, tools, and endgame challenges to the table. Every faction gets a dozen unique unlocks, such as laws, abilities, and hubs, as well as one unique hub and housing district variant.
Over 100 new events, two premium tales revolving around deadly diseases and doomsayers, and one new map round out the DLC’s offerings.
