HoYoverse has announced the next Genshin Impact livestream: The broadcast detailing Version 5.6, simply titled Paralogism, will take place on April 25, 2025.

Looking at the announcement poster, you may rightly ask yourself if you’ve accidentally traveled back in time and landed in late 2020, but we can assure you that we’re seeing the same thing — it looks like Mondstadt is back on the menu. Dragonspine in the back; Venti, Jean, Kaeya, and Albedo all being featured; it’s time to return to where it all started.

How will that fit into the main story? That’s probably what the special program is going to tell us.

Genshin Impact 5.6 livestream: what to expect

What are we doing back home? Are we gathering information on Nod-Krai, the client state we’ll likely end up visiting ahead of Snezhnaya? Are we finally getting some Durin lore? Or is it time for the Windblume Festival once more? Naturally, we can expect the broadcast to enlighten us in this regard, clarifying why the Traveler is visiting Mondstadt once again.

As for upcoming characters, Version 5.6 brings Natlan’s Ifa and Fontaine’s Escoffier to the table, who both have very little to do with Mondstadt on the surface, so we’ll have to wait and see how they figure into what’s going on in this update. It certainly appears to be a patch full of surprises.

Players can also expect a bunch of new quality-of-life improvements and buffs to the good old Treasure Compass, making it better at sniffing out chests.
