Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Ineffa debuts

Every new and returning character coming with Version 5.8.
HoYoverse

It’s time for the annual summer event and a slight taste of what’s to come after: Genshin Impact 5.8 is just around the corner and HoYoverse has announced the 5-Star characters who will have their rates increased on the game’s banners.

As the sole brand-new addition to the roster, all eyes will be on Ineffa — the first character from the upcoming region of Nod-Krai. She’ll also be the first inorganic character in the game, since she’s an ancient robot very unlike the regular inhabitants of Teyvat. Alongside her players will find a line-up of rerun banners featuring older characters.

Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Phase 1

Starting on June 30, 2025, with update 5.8’s launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android, you’ll be able to call upon the following characters:

  • Banner #1: Ineffa (5-Star, Electro, Polearm) and three 4-Star characters
  • Banner #2: Citlali (5-Star, Cryo, Catalyst) and three 4-Star characters

Ineffa deals Electro DMG and can create shields for her allies. She’s coming with some off-field capabilities as well, calling in more robotic assistance. Ineffa specializes in working with Hydro characters, converting Electro-Charged reactions into special Lunar-Charged reactions, which scale with ATK instead of Elemental Mastery and create lingering Thunderclouds on the field, which catalyze further reactions — a first taste of what Nod-Krai’s line-up will have to offer.

Citlali

Delivering an incredible mix of shielding and off-field Cryo DMG, Citlali is an excellent addition to any team requiring such a character. She’s especially potent in combination with Pyro or Hydro allies, since she can weaken the resistance of enemies to these elements.

Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Phase 2

After a duration of three weeks, the banners will change at the halfway point of the game version on August 20, 2025. That’ll make the following characters available:

  • Banner #3: Chasca (5-Star, Anemo, Bow) and three 4-Star characters
  • Banner #4: Mualani (5-Star, Hydro, Catalyst) and three 4-Star characters

Chasca

Chasca is a jack of all trades when it comes to the elements: Hovering above the battlefield, she can power up her own attacks with the elemental power of her allies, triggering powerful Swirl reactions all by herself.

Mualani

Mualani’s combat style is fast and furious, as she whirls around on her Sharky Surfboard to mark enemies and deal extra Hydro DMG to them. She doesn’t specialize in any reactions, instead preferring to remain on the field on show the power of her Basic Attacks.
